Athletes foot

Writer: Nicola PezaroNicola Pezaro

Athletes foot, or tinea pedis , is a fungal infection that often takes up residence between the toes or on the soles of the feet. It thrives in warm damp environments, which is why it’s a frequent companion in locker rooms, public showers and poorly ventilated shoes.

Symptoms:

Itching and burning sensation, red flaky or peeling skin. Blisters or sores, a strong unpleasant odor.

Prevention:

Keep your feet dry

Choose breathable footwear

Avoid going bare foot in public

Use anti fungal products.
